Returnable Asset Tracking

RFID Pooling Gate

Returnable Transport Items (RTIs) and rental materials are constantly going in and out of inventory. Managing these assets is quite a challenge. Sometimes they are not returned or incomplete. They can end up in the wrong location, be moved or stolen and never be found again. The loss of these valuable assets, which must be continuously replaced, costs a lot of money for pooling and rental companies.

The registrations and counting within this process, which are often still manual, are time-consuming and error-prone. In some cases, data are kept only on paper, making the info inaccessible to other departments.

By automating your pooling and rental process by means of RFID technology, you get an insight into the whereabouts of your assets.

Each unique item can be identified and all its movements are registered. The in/out flow of goods can be controlled in bulk. RFID Asset Tracking enables you to know at any time the exact location of your RTIs and rental items. You can also evaluate the turnaround times of your logistics processes and thus improve your logistics flow. In addition, RFID Asset Management allows to trace not only the location and status of the assets, but also their history and use, giving you automatic updates on wear and life cycle. In this way, maintenance and replacements can be optimally scheduled.

Every item and/or load carrier is equipped with an RFID tag or an RFID label which contains the unique information of the assets.

RFID Scanning Inbound Outbound
RFID readers detect all assets at inbound and outbound locations

The data of all incoming and outgoing returnable assets are detected and registered by means of RFID gates, fixed reading equipment mounted to a wall or post, an RFID reader mounted to the ceiling, an RFID tunnel, handheld scanners.

Inbound & Outbound

RFID Outdoor Gate

RFID allows you to quickly and flawlessly register and control all incoming and outgoing returnable assets at your inbound and outbound locations.

The automation of check-ins and check-outs plays a key role within pooling and rental processes. (By extension, these processes apply to all goods shipped in various sectors.)

Inbound (receipt) is the first warehouse process. An accurate control of the incoming returnable assets is of primary importance here. Were the right assets received, in the right quantity, in the right condition and at the right time? It should be possible to detect missing, wrong or damaged goods so that the next procedures can follow quickly.

The same applies to the outbound process. Are the right assets being shipped, in the right quantity, in good condition, at the right time and to the right address? RFID enables to read all assets in bulk, thanks to which counting is much more accurate and faster compared to manual procedures.

You can use the Aucxis POLARIS Asset Management Software for these processes. This package offers numerous functionalities (pick, load, return, count, move) to efficiently identify and track your assets by means of a handheld or a convenient web interface.

Stock Management

RFI

RFID automation offers a real-time overview of the life cycle of all assets, which ensures you always have an overview of your available stock. In addition to in/out checks via gates or other reading points, you can always perform additional stock counts by using an RFID handheld.
