PolySto scans its kerbs automatically with RFID Asset Tracking

The Belgian company PolySto is a leading manufacturer of hygienic protection for wall panels for the food industry. In order to optimise the counting of the manufactured kerbs per type, PolySto was looking for a way to automatically register and identify each manufactured piece, each insert and each mould, enabling to link them to each other throughout the production process. 

Aucxis suggested to automate the production flow with RFID Asset Tracking. Thanks to the smart combination of RFID hardware (tags and read points),  the Aucxis Middleware HERTZ and POLARIS asset management software, PolySto is able to correctly steer the production robot and knows at all times how many kerbs were manufactured per type. 

RFID labels are mounted in the kerbs during the moulding process and can be linked and read without line-of-sight. The automation of the scans increases the efficiency and reduces the pressure on the production manager. After visual control of the manufactured kerbs, PolySto can also determine the quality by using an RFID hand scanner.
