Asset Tracking

RFID Asset Tracking Production Line

RFID enables an automatic and correct identification and tracking of compound products and their components throughout the manufacturing, assembly and quality control process.

Every component and finished product equipped with an RFID tag or RFID label can be detected and controlled at strategic locations through various types of RFID readers. Each time a component passes, the RFID tag updates the production or ERP system, with the result that the process automatically continues and manual tracing is no longer necessary.

The Aucxis HERTZ Middleware ensures the data exchange between the RFID hardware and the operating systems; the captured data is available to your own software packages or to the Aucxis POLARIS Asset Management Software.

Every component and finished product is traceable to the end customer. In this way, the entire life cycle of the components and products can be defined and continuous efforts can be made to improve quality.

Assembly

RFID-Tag- Linking-Assembly-Line

RFID allows you to keep the overview during the manufacturing and/or assembly process: every component and every finished product, equipped with an RFID tag, can be identified and tracked.

This allows real-time monitoring of whether production is proceeding normally, possibly behind schedule or ahead of schedule. If necessary, the production planning can be adjusted accordingly or resources can be added or removed.

RFID allows you to know at any time:

  • where and when each component is located in the process
  • whether the right component is located in the manufacturing or assembly process and the next step in the process can be started
  • where each finished product is located
  • when each finished product is ready for shipment
  • what the stock of both components and finished goods is
  • when bottlenecks occur; necessary actions can be taken quickly and costly delays avoided

Production Tracking

RFID Tracing Boots

RFID technology allows you to accurately track the production flow in your production environment. You receive valuable information allowing you to analyse your production processes.

Based on this, it is possible to identify bottlenecks, optimise production routes and determine JIT strategies for stock management, resulting in significant cost savings.

Good understanding leads to process optimisation

As each component and finished product can be identified and tracked throughout the entire manufacturing and/or assembly process, the captured data allow you to gain insight into the following:

  • What is the duration of the manufacturing and/or assembly process?
  • Where and when did bottlenecks occur?
  • Which components were inadequate or not on time in stock?
  • Have components or products disappeared, where and when?
  • Which components are no longer used and unnecessarily in stock?
  • What is the result of the quality controls?

Process Automation

Intelligent control of machines and robots

RFID can also be used to automatically control manufacturing and assembly processes. Each component, equipped with an RFID tag, can be detected and read throughout the process, which enables a targeted control of processing steps. It can be checked, for example, whether the correct component is located in the manufacturing or assembly process after which the process is automatically activated.

The Aucxis HERTZ Middleware ensures the necessary interfacing between the RFID hardware and your MES, WMS, ERP systems (for example SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, SQL, AGP…).

Product Authentication

RFID Product Authentication

RFID allows to verify whether a finished product is composed of the correct components.

Each component equipped with an RFID tag or an RFID label can be added to an assembly list. After assembly, the finished product is scanned by an RFID reader for completeness and for the presence of the correct components. Multiple components of an assembly can be scanned at once without line-of-sight.

The same principle applies to manufacturing companies that supply products with accessories. This allows you to check whether each box is complete and contains the correct items.

In a production environment, it is necessary to be able to guarantee the availability of material.

In addition to automated stock counts, RFID also provides concrete solutions to automatically reorder goods and prevent stock shortages.
